A Feast of Little Plates

Here in Cyprus, one of the best meals we have had is Meze — lots of little plates of local dishes, served in succession. This place served around 20 plates. It’s too easy to get eager with the first few: delicious salads, fluffy pita breads and amazing dips — and not leave space for the meat which arrives at the end! Even knowing this, it’s still hard to do! The local wine is excellent — this tiny carafe cost just €3 and was plenty for myself at lunchtime.

Family-Run and Full of Charm

Our best tip we were given, as always, is to get away from tourist areas and head to the hills. This place, Kyparissos in Kathikas, Cyprus, was run by generations of family. What a great business.

"It’s too easy to get eager with the first few dishes and forget there’s more to come!"

Simple Pleasures, Big Memories

A reminder that the best food memories come from good company, fresh flavours and local tradition.
